Waterstones Middlesbrough, Captain Cook Square will be selling The Weakest Link as of friday 7th of December and I have a book signing at that store on Friday 14th December 11.30-1.30pm. Please come along if you are in the area, even if it is just to say Hi :) From the 14th Dec my book should be featured in the Waterstones catalogue and so should be available to order throughout their stores.

I can now confirm that O2 Redcar are sponsoring some of my promotional material and i will be having a book signing event at the Redcar shop in December. Watch this space for date confirmation.

Poetry - The Sheet Thief

The Sheet Thief

I fought my ground in vain for a share of blissful peace,
when cold night shook me from my contented lay.
Like a corned beef key you twisted satisfaction away from me,
and left me teetering on the edge of that same contentment, unbound.

And there I lay, clinging desperately
to the memory of perfect happiness.
Night’s icy finger trickled a chill over my exposed skin.
Cruel awareness overtook me, and reluctantly,
I ventured the opening of a bleary eye.

Selfish uncharitable dreamer. Oblivious to my
Discomfort you slept on, bastard!
Vengeance was mine and in a second of rage,
So was the Duvet.

Poetry - The Walk

The Walk                                                                      

I get round the park much quicker these mornings.
No pauses for yawnings or taking a breath.
No aches and pains with every step.
No need to complain of the wind or the rain.

 I no longer rest at the 'halfway' bench

As you clench a bold fist at the world in defiance.
My eyes watch the track and never look back,
At the seat, or the bush where the leaves push through,
Spoiling your view of the swans as they sway on the lake.

I need not take a chance to peep at the branch
Of that brash cheeky bird, who just must be heard,
With his small beady eyes and bright orange beak,
Trying to peek as we pass his way.
But I DO flash a glance anyway.

I needn't pass flowers, scenting the hours
Spent sat in the park near the grass.
I've no one to show me, I’ve nothing to slow me,
My legs now too fast push me past and then on,
And most of my green has now gone.
