It has now been a week since my full hip replacement and I am walking on just one stick already.  Thanks for all the get well soon messages and wellness wishes.

Waterstones Middlesbrough, Captain Cook Square will be selling The Weakest Link as of friday 7th of December and I have a book signing at that store on Friday 14th December 11.30-1.30pm. Please come along if you are in the area, even if it is just to say Hi :) From the 14th Dec my book should be featured in the Waterstones catalogue and so should be available to order throughout their stores.

The Sheet Thief

I fought my ground in vain for a share of blissful peace,
when cold night shook me from my contented lay.
Like a corned beef key you twisted satisfaction away from me,
and left me teetering on the edge of that same contentment, unbound.

And there I lay, clinging desperately
to the memory of perfect happiness.
Night’s icy finger trickled a chill over my exposed skin.
Cruel awareness overtook me, and reluctantly,
I ventured the opening of a bleary eye.

Selfish uncharitable dreamer. Oblivious to my
Discomfort you slept on, bastard!
Vengeance was mine and in a second of rage,
So was the Duvet.

Poetry - The Walk

The Walk                                                                      

I get round the park much quicker these mornings.
No pauses for yawnings or taking a breath.
No aches and pains with every step.
No need to complain of the wind or the rain.

 I no longer rest at the 'halfway' bench

As you clench a bold fist at the world in defiance.
My eyes watch the track and never look back,
At the seat, or the bush where the leaves push through,
Spoiling your view of the swans as they sway on the lake.

I need not take a chance to peep at the branch
Of that brash cheeky bird, who just must be heard,
With his small beady eyes and bright orange beak,
Trying to peek as we pass his way.
But I DO flash a glance anyway.

I needn't pass flowers, scenting the hours
Spent sat in the park near the grass.
I've no one to show me, I’ve nothing to slow me,
My legs now too fast push me past and then on,
And most of my green has now gone.

I've just been told that the art department is now working on my book cover. This is so exciting, have been told I will see some samples in a few days. wooo hoooo.
Once done I can get on with my website.

Well, I got my manuscript back from the proof reader, went through it and sent it back.
Received the first proof on Saturday, checked through it and have sent that back. I am now waiting for the mock ups and book covers, can't wait.

Proof reading finished

I got my manuscript back from the proof reader the other day and have approved any changes and made any relevant changes.
Now I'm waiting for them to make up some samples for me to look at. It's very scary but a little exciting too.
It takes a long time to sort things though. I was surprised at how much work is involved.

Still waiting for the proof reader to finish with my manuscript. It's been ages, and i'm itching to get started with my web page now. Hope the book cover is finished soon so I can get started. I'm so NOT a waiter lol.

New to google circles

Just worked out how to do this google+ circles thing. Wow, I'm getting comments through already, thanks everyone, it's nice to know there are people out there lol

Making progress, received print examples today

Got some mock ups of my book today, showing examples of font sizes and lay out. It's all very exciting :)

I may have found a marketing sponsor...I hope.

I may have found a sponsor to pay towards the marketing of my new book, the weakest link, a conspiracy thriller set in the north east of england. It's a well known company and would be really good for me. The manager has to confirm things with his area manager so fingers well and truly crossed that he says yes.

Manuscript returned for updating

my manuscript was returned by the proof reader as it was in a format they couldn't read.
Had to convert it to a more 'modern' format. oops.
Manuscript returned this morning.
